FLOATING DOCKS


Karachi Shipyard

The dock is constructed over 10 independent flat bottomed pontoons bolted to the two wing walls which are of continuous structure. Designed by PN Dockyard, the dock has been constructed at KSEW under the survey of Germanischer Lloyds of Germany for their class of A + 1000. It is fitted with two Gantry Cranes, one each wing wall and other equipment like Evacuation Pumps, Generators, Compressors, Fire Fighting System, Boiler, AC Plants, Keel and Bilge Blocks, Capstan, Bollard and complete workshop appliances.

In addition to above, PN Dockyard has also indigenously designed, developed and constructed smaller floating dock for a lifting capacity of 1500 tons. This smaller dock is 76 meters long, 21 meters broad and has a depth of 9.90 meters. The smallest on that can be offered for commercial construction is for a 1000 tons lifting capacity.

One Floating Dock of 4000 tons has recently been completed by KSEW for Pakistan Navy.
