KSEW can
rightly be called The First Major Industry of Pakistan.
Although it is designed for series production of Ocean Going
Vessels, its role in the support of Industry and Development
Engineering is more well known and prominent. It has a long
record of services to our industry and during slump in the Shipping
Industry has promoted diversification of its General
Engineering Activities, it has one of the largest and best
equipped Engineering Workshops of the country. It can
undertake a wide variety of Engineering and Structural Works for Oil
Refineries, Storage Installations and Oil Based
Industries as well as Engineering Workshops, Cement
& Sugar Plants etc.
An independent
department is responsible for the quality control which works
according to customer's specifications / international standards.

The Foundry
KSEW has well planned and up-to-date Foundries
and Pattern Shops. These facilities were established in
late fifties and progressive modernization/replacement of
equipment/machinery has been effected according to technological
requirements. It is one of the oldest foundries in Pakistan having
over 40 years of experience in producing wide varieties of
castings according to international standards. KSEW has
acquired and adopted a special technology whereby it can produce
different grades of cast iron and S.G. iron according to the
international standards.
There are three Foundries at KSEW:

Foundry (750 Kg. a Piece)
These Foundries are working in conformity to ASTM, BSS
and DIN norms and a well equipped laboratory capable of carrying out
all types of chemical, physical, mechanical, metallo-graphic,
radiographic, ultrasonic and dye penetrant testing of materials is
available in-house to ensure conformity of castings to
specifications.
Metallurgy & Testing Laboratory
The Foundries are supported by a well-equipped
laboratory having facilities for chemical, mechanical
non-destructive testing and metallo-graphic examination. The
Laboratory also renders examination and testing facilities on
commercial basis. KSEW's Laboratory is ISO-9002 Certified
and its results are accepted by all the international
classification societies.

capabilities, many other facilities and an elaborate design office
are in attendance. KSEW has well established Machines and Steel

machinery manufacturers of the country. It can undertake a wide
variety of engineering and structural works for Oil Refineries,
Storage Installations and Oil Based Industries as well as
Engineering Workshops, Cement & Sugar Factories etc.
Besides Handling many turn key projects, with or without
collaboration of foreign suppliers, KSEW is providing a
strong base for establishment of various industrial units
necessary for the progress & prosperity of the country.
Horizontal Fire Fighting &
Marine Pumps
KSEW's
Fire Fighting Pump is
suitable for continuous duty and operation in humid / tropical
climate. Pump is split case type coupled to a Siemens A/C three
phase squirrel cage induction motor, fan cooled type, 44 KW rated
output 980 RPM mounted on common base plate.
