Shipyard Training School

The mission of Shipyard Training School is to help and make available resources that will teach, demonstrate, and emancipate National Human Resource to know their identity, pursue their destiny, and transform their community.


STS was established in 1957 as Apprentice Training School for marine engineering apprenticeship (4 years) courses. In 1994 Sindh Board of Technical Education (SBTE) approved its vocational courses and became Technical Training Center (TTC). The Institute was renamed as Shipyard Institute of Technology after affiliation with SBTE in 2004 for 3 years Diploma of Associate Engineer (DAE) and short courses in electrical, mechanical and ship construction technologies. In 2017, the institute was renamed as Shipyard Training School. The institute has so far trained more than 25,000 individuals in different trades.
